Former President and Speaker of Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed has said that the Parliament will be an exemplary and honest Parliament, just how the President hopes it would be.

In a reply to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's tweet after Nasheed was elected as Speaker, he said that by the grace of god, the Parliament will be a just one that will constantly work towards the betterment of the people. In his tweet, Nasheed had also thanked the president and the people of the Maldives.

In his tweet, the President expressed his hopes that under the leadership of Nasheed, the Parliament will go on to be the most successful ones in recent history.
