Civil Court has ordered Kangaroo Kids International Pre-School Maldives to provide details on the number of children promoted between nursery, JKG, SJ, and Grade 1 for the academic year 2024 within three days.

The directive was issued Yudra Abdul Latheef, H. Lucky Corner, filed a civil suit against the Ministry of Education. Yudra alleged that children who did not meet the age requirements set by the Ministry’s admission circular were promoted to higher grades in 2024.

Civil Court Judge Mohamed Eesa Fulhu stated in the order that while exceptions were made during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry must ensure compliance with age limits as per the circular. Yudra approached the school for details to support their claim but was denied access to the information.

The court highlighted the importance of the requested data to assess whether the Ministry adhered to its guidelines. The school has been instructed to submit the information promptly to aid in the investigation.
