Two people have been injured after a glass sheet fell from Maaveyo Mosque, currently under construction.

Maldives Police Service said that the two people injured are two expatriates working on the building. They have been taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.

Although they did not sustain any serious injuries, one of the people sustain a cut on his hand while another has injured his waist.

Police said that the incident was reported this morning around 10 a.m. and it took place as the two workers were trying to move the sheet.

The Police said that the two men were wearing safety helmets at the time of the incident.
