Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has put a halt on vehicle registrations for people without garages in Hulhumale, and begun works on compiling a register for those who wish to bring in their vehicles to Hulhumale.

In an announcement, the corporation said that vehicle registration permissions without garages have been put on hold starting May 23 since the number of parking slots were full. They added that the permissions have been put on hold till new parking spaces are allocated.

They added that in order to create new parking spaces in Hulhumale, they have begun to compile a list of people who want to bring in their cars to the island. As such, registrations for the list have now been opened.

HDC has appealed those who wish to be on the register, to fill out the survey form and to submit it to the corporation by 1:00pm on June 3.
