The Maldives Statistics Bureau has launched a labour market survey in the Greater Malé Region, covering Malé, Villimalé, and Hulhumalé. The survey, which starts today, will continue until December 21.
Randomly selected households will be surveyed to gather critical data on the country’s labour market. According to the Statistics Bureau, the survey will provide insights into key areas, such as the proportion of the working population and the percentage of people who are unemployed.
The bureau assured that all personal and household information collected will remain confidential, as required by law. It also reminded the public of their responsibility to provide accurate information within the specified timeframe when approached by authorised personnel conducting the survey.
The findings from this survey are expected to play a vital role in shaping policies and addressing labour market challenges in the Maldives.
