The Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the People’s Republic of China, Dr. Fazeel Najeeb, presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

The Letter of Credence was presented at a special ceremony held today at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

During the proceedings, Ambassador Fazeel conveyed best wishes and greetings from the President of Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, and the people of Maldives to President Xi Jinping and the friendly people of China.

President Xi welcomed and congratulated Ambassador Fazeel on his appointment.

The Ambassador was accompanied by his spouse, Ms. Aminath Fareesha.

The Maldives and China established diplomatic relations on 14 October 1972. Ambassador Fazeel is the fifth Ambassador of Maldives to China.
