The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has initiated a mass inspection of establishments such as salons and spas.

In a statement released on the fifth of this month, the HPA said that inspections of personal service establishments (such as salons and spas) operating in the Greater Male' Area are scheduled to be carried out from the 9th to the 19th of this month. The purpose is to determine how these establishments maintain hygiene standards while providing services to the public.

The HPA requested the cooperation of salon and spa operators during these inspections. They also mentioned that information related to this can be obtained by calling 3024570.

While the HPA is conducting this mass inspection, the Maldives Immigration has also recently carried out inspections to check whether foreigners working in salons and spas are working in accordance with regulations. Many foreigners found to be staying in the Maldives illegally during these inspections have been deported.
