A man has been arrested and remanded by ten days in connection to the confrontations that have turned violent in Kaafu Atoll Dhiffushi.

Maldives Police Service said that a 32-year-old man has been arrested after two nights of confrontations in the island and he was remanded by ten days by the Thulusdhoo Magistrate Court.

The attack that took place around 11:30 p.m. last night in the island was related to the one the night before, according to the place, and a person injured in the attack last night was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Sources have said that last night, the thieves were confronted and questioned by a mob. And the people of the island found a safe stolen from one of the shops that were robbed. Although the safe was found buried, the money inside was taken according to sources.

Two people were attacked with knives in the conflicts that began on Wednesday night in the island following a theft. In the attacks, one person got three fingers slashed to the point of losing the sensation.
