Maldives Police Service has said that confrontations turned violent in Kaafu Atoll Dhiffushi last night as well.

Two people were attacked with knives in the conflicts that began on Wednesday night in the island following a theft. In the attacks, one person got three fingers slashed to the point of losing the sensation.

Sources have said that last night, the thieves were confronted and questioned. And the people of the island found a safe stolen from one of the shops that were robbed. Although the safe was found buried, the money inside was taken according to sources.

Police said that further information would be revealed as it becomes available. A team of officers are currently operating in the island.
