Two Maldivians arrested in Sri Lanka for the possession of a book by the Islamic State (IS) has had their remand extended.
Maldivian Foreign Ministry said that their remand was extended by three days for the two people who were in possession of a book containing stories of the extremist group, IS.
The Ministry said that despite the allegations that Sri Lankan prison is not allowing them to fast in this month of Ramadan, no such reports have come in and the Ministry officials are in talks with the Sri Lankan authorities.
Six Maldivians have been arrested in connection with the series of terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka last month. While four of them who were arrested after an air-soft gun was found at their residence have now been released, the two remaining in Sri Lankan custody are the people who had a book with stories of IS.
