Maldives Immigration has apprehended 15 illegal immigrants within the span of two days.

Maldives Police Service revealed that they arrested nine foreigners in takeaway coffee shops and shops in Malé and Hulhumalé on Monday. Six foreigners were arrested and handed over to Immigration yesterday.

Police said the 15 foreigners were arrested from a total of seven locations.

83 illegal immigrants were arrested last month. So far this year, about 1,800 illegal immigrants have been deported, the Immigration Department said earlier.
