Sh. Noomaraa Harbour Development Project is well underway, according to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

MTCC said the new harbour basin dredging operations are ongoing with 51 percent completion. First shipment of concrete blocks required for quay wall construction have been delivered to the site.

Scope of works for the project include 34,386cbm new harbour basin dredging operations, 5,076cbm maintenance dredging operations, 2,920cbm channel dredging operations, repair of 32m existing quay wall, construction of 177m quay wall, 303m breakwater, 64m revetment, 120m x 2m concrete jetty, 11m x 11m concrete ramp, and an access platform, installation of 1,652sqm harbour pavement, harbour lights and mooring bouys.

The project is valued at MVR 53.3 million.
