Catherine, Princess of Wales, has announced her first public appearance in six months this weekend following her cancer treatment.

Kate is scheduled to attend King Charles III's annual birthday parade on Saturday alongside other senior royals.

In her statement, Kate said she is 'not out of the woods yet' but hopes to join a 'few public engagements over the summer'.

Kate's statement, first released on social media channels, said she was learning how to be patient with uncertainty and allowing herself to take much-needed time to heal.

She thanked people for their continued understanding. Her appearance at Saturday's annual Trooping the Colour parade for Charles's official birthday will be her first public appearance since she was seen gathering with other royals for Christmas last December.
