The price of diesel sold to fishermen have been slashed to match the price at fuel stations.

Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources said in a post on X on Wednesday night that the change was made to fulfil President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's presidential pledge.

While diesel prices have been reduced in Hulhumale', diesel is already being supplied to fishermen at a special price in the islands with MIFCO's fish factories.

Diesel is currently being sold at MVR 13.92 per litre at FSM fuel stations.

Diesel price slash comes at a time when fishermen had staged a protest at Jetty No. 1 in Male' City and Kanneli Jetty in Hulhumale' on Wednesday.
