President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has urged to make today the day where Maldives provides the greatest aid to the people of Palestine, noting that we must show our generosity for the Palestine people.
Speaking at the launch of a telethon to raise funds, the President said he hoped the money raised today would bring about a meaningful change in the lives of the Palestinian people.
The President said the Palestinian people need to be helped more than ever. He also asked the entire Islamic Ummah to do everything possible for the Palestinian people by treating it as a right, responsibility and obligation of every muslim.
The President said he had no doubt that he would prove today that the people of Maldives are with the people of Palestine. He also urged the people of Maldives to always help them.
Under President Muizzu's direction, an independent auditor has been appointed to ensure that the proceeds of the telethon reach the rightful beneficiaries. The telethon will continue until 12 am. 13 fund boxes have been placed in different parts of the city.
In addition, two accounts have been opened for those who cannot reach these boxes to deposit money online. The funds can be deposited into the account 7730000655865 in local currency and 7730000655866 in dollars.
