Visit Maldives Pro 2024, part of Bodyboarding IBC World Tour, has been announced.

The biggest international sporting event was announced at a ceremony held at H. Boalhage by Sports Minister Abdulla Rafiu. The event was attended by State Minister Mohamed Riyaz, President of Maldives Bodyboarding Association Hussain Nizam and General Secretary Hassan Rasheed.

The Visit Maldives Pro 2024 is set to take place from 1-9 August at Varunulaa Raalhugandu and will see the participation of the best bodyboarders in the world. Maldives successfully hosted world tour events last year.

The Visit Maldives Pro will feature 15 Maldivian athletes. One of the four international judges for the event will be a Maldivian as well.

Speaking at the event, Minister Rafiu highlighted the progress made by the Maldives in bodyboarding, noting the achievements of Maldivian athletes at last year's World Tour event. He added that the Ministry was ready to extend full support to enable bodyboarders to excel themselves.

Bodyboarding Association's President Nizam thanked the government and President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during today's even. He also noted the support extended by Minister Rafiu, The Ministry of Tourism and MMPRC to the competition. Nazim said that he hoped to see the tallest bodybuilding athletes in the Maldives come and do bodyboarding.

Speaking at today's press conference, General Secretary Rasheed said the IBC had given 85 out of 100 for last year's tournament, out of which caution was given to correct certain things in natural situations.

He pointed out that last year, there were problems like high tide and shortness of power due to salt, and this time he would try to find a solution.
