The total number of tourists arrivals in the Maldives for the year has crossed the 900,000 mark.

According to the Tourism Ministry, a total of 907,066 tourists arrived in the Maldives till yesterday. This is an increase of 9.9 percent over the previous year. Last year, 825,239 tourists visited the country during the same period.

The largest number of tourists this year came from China, with more than 100,000 tourists arriving from the country so far. With over 90,000 tourist arrivals, Russia ranks among the second top source market, while UK trails closely behind with 86,083 arrivals.
