A man has been arrested for the arson of motorcycles in the parking zone in front of the Parliament.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. He was produced before the Criminal Court today where the police were ordered to be remanded in custody for 30 days.

A fire was reported at 3:03 pm on Tuesday in the bicycle parking zone near Hotel Jen on Medhuziyaaraiy Magu.

Seven motorcycles and a van were damaged in the fire. Three of the motorcycles were burnt to the ground, police said.
