Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has opened applications for their apprenticeship program to train workers in seven fields.

HDC said today that the program is part of the government's skills program to train skilled Maldivians in various fields.

"The apprenticeship Program is one of the key CSR initiatives conducted by HDC. The program's primary focus is on developing the chosen discipline's skills, gaining self-confidence, learning work ethics, and building the apprentice's competence to become a professional," the corporation highlighted.

The fields and the programs offered at the apprenticeship are:

- National Certificate 3 in Front Office Services

- National Certificate 3 in Computer Hardware and Networking

- National Certificate 3 in Construction Site Supervision

- National Certificate 3 in Gardening

- National Certificate 3 in Electrical Installation

- National Certificate 3 in Masonry

- National Certificate 3 Health & Safety in Construction

The program is expected to run for six months.

Participants who complete the program will receive a National Level III certificate, accredited by the Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA).

HDC will provide employment opportunities to the participants who complete the program as well.

The program is open to people between the ages of 18 and 35 who have completed their A/L or Level Two certificate. During the program, participants will receive an allowance of MVR 6,000 per month.
