Parliament Public Accounts Committee has decided to summon Finance Minister Mohamed Shafiq to question regarding the financial situation of the Maldives.

At a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee held today, Deputy Speaker of the PNC, Dhiggaru MP Ahmed Nazim proposed to summon the Minister for questioning.

The proposal was unanimously approved by all the members present in the committee meeting.

Nazim said that the financial situation of the country is unclear at the moment and the country's finances should be well known while carrying out the work.

The Finance Minister should share accurate information about the financial situation of the country with the committee, Nazim said.

Nazim said only then would parliament know what steps it needed to take financially.
