An emergency motion has been moved in the Parliament calling for an immediate solution to the lack of clean water accessibility in Addu City.
The emergency motion was moved by South Hithadhoo MP Ibrahim Nazil.
Moving the emergency motion, Nazil said the people of Hithadhoo, Maradhoo, Maradhoo-Feydhoo and Feydhoo in Addu City have not been getting clean water since April last year.
It has disrupted the normal life of the people and caused them much suffering. It further stressed that while FENAKA has been unable to resolve the issue, there is no one to take accountability for it making it even more difficult to solve the matter.
Therefore, the emergency motion calls on the government to immediately resolve the issue of providing clean water to the people of Addu City.
