Transparency Maldives has stated that STO was the only transparent government company last year.
Transparency Maldives' Corporate Governance Transparency Index (CGTI) report, released on Tuesday, includes data on 32 government-owned companies. Companies were assessed for their transparencies across 6 categories and 38 measures.

Transactions with the private sector
CSR, internal control and corporate integrity
Board of Directors
Transactions between the State
According to the CGTI report, STO ranked atop three of the six categories. These include the company's ownership policy and objectives section, organization, operations and performance, as well as CSR, internal control and corporate integrity.
The transactions with the state and private sector transactions were topped by MTDC. Dhiraagu ranked the highest in the board of directors category.
According to the CGTI report, HDFC, MTCC, BML, Dhiraagu and Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) were among the companies that were the most transparent last year.
