Housing Ministry has revealed that the draw for the transfer of 1,347 plots of land allocated from Giraavarufalhu to Gulhifalhu under the Binveriyaa Scheme will be held on Tuesday.
A total of 2,210 people applied to transfer their land during the application window.
The Housing Ministry said yesterday that the draw will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday at the Rannabandeyri Maalam in Dharubaaruge. Those who wish to put their names in the draw on their own will have the opportunity to do so from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
If a person on the list of land recipients is unable to attend or wants to send a replacement, the person's information should be submitted through the Hiyaa Portal. The information must be submitted from 10 am today until noon next Monday.
The Housing Ministry said on April 6 that land under the Binveriyaa scheme had been allocated without allocating enough land for essential services in the area.
Therefore, the ministry has decided to transfer some of the land to Gulhifalhu, as the land use plan of Giraavarufalhu has been changed.
1,347 plots of land will be transferred from Giraavarufalhu to Gulhifalhu. The number and size of the plots are:
- 193 lots of 1250sqft
- 663 lots of 1650sqft
- 487 lots of 2050 sqft
- 4 lots of 2450sqft
During the previous government, 9,001 plots of land were allocated in the first round from Hulhumale Phase 2, Hulhumale Phase 3, Gulhifalhu and Giraavarufalhu. They are 1,351 plots in Hulhumale, 2,219 plots in Gulhifalhu and 5,433 plots in Giraavarufalhu.
