A prison officer has been arrested with drugs.

One has come to know that a prison officer at Maafushi prison was arrested after Police conducted an operation based off a tip-off on Wednesday.

Police arrested the 32-year-old prison officer around 2112hrs on Wednesday night during a search near the prison. He was found carrying 38.4g of contraband on him, Police said.

He has been ordered a 10-day remand after being presented at Court and Police are investigating the incident further.
