The 20th Parliament has nominated Fonadhoo MP Abdul Raheem Abdullah and Hithadhoo South MP Ibrahim Nazil for the post of Speaker of the 20th Parliament.
During the inaugural sitting of the 20th parliament, Abdul Raheem's name was nominated as the Speaker by Dhiggaru MP Ahmed Nazim and was supported by Inguraidhoo MP Ibrahim Falaah. Maamigili MP Qasim Ibrahim also supported Abdul Raheem's nomination.
MDP nominated their PG Leader, South Hithadhoo MP Ibrahim Nazil. Nazil was nominated by Vaikaradhoo MP Hussain Ziyad, and was supported by South Galolhu MP Meekail Naseem.
Abdul Raheem nominated Dhiggaru MP Ahmed Nazim as the first name for Deputy Speaker, supported by Baarah MP Ibrahim Shujau.
Maradhoo MP Ahmed Didi was nominated by Ziyad as the Deputy Speaker, supported by Maavah MP Ahmed Shakir.
