An earthquake has been recorded off the northern coast of the Maldives.

According to the MET Office, the earthquake recording meter at HDh. Hanimaadhoo recorded the tremor around 2027 hrs on Monday.

MET Office said the earthquake is unlikely to pose a threat to the country.

There were no reports of damage or damage despite the tremors in parts of the north.
