MP Ibrahim Nazil of Hithadhoo South constituency has been elected as PG leader of MDP and Hussain Ziyad (Fitte) of Vaikaradhoo constituency has been elected as the Deputy PG leader.

The party had opened the application process for the posts in the PG group on Tuesday.

  • Chief Whip: Thoddhoo MP Hussain Sameer
  • Whip: Kandithimu MP Amin Faisal
  • Whip: Kayodhoo MP Mohamed Niyushad

In the last 20th parliamentary elections, MDP managed to win only 12 seats. The ruling PNC won a super majority in the parliament, with 75 lawmakers from the party having a seat in the new parliament.
