Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has stated that a foreign experienced person is being sought as the CEO of the Development Bank to be opened in the Maldives in July.

Speaking during a press conference today, Minister Saeed told reporters that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's vision is to establish a development bank in the Maldives as a trusted bank in Asia.

Therefore, the appointment of a foreign expert as the CEO of the Development Bank is part of the efforts being made to bring a richer international understanding of the technical capacity available in the Maldives, he said.

“We are working to bring in one of the best chief executive officers in the world. The work is going fast and we are looking for a foreign CEO,” he said.
