A man accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in one of the northern atolls has been arrested while on the run, Police said on Friday.

Police said the case was reported on 19 May but no arrests were made up until now.

'One' has come to know that the man was on the run, leading to Police launching a manhunt for him.

The accused is believed to be Ahmed Viam, 27, from Miladhoo.
