Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Basamu Adam has been appointed MMPRC in-charge temporarily.

Bassam was appointed in-charge following the dismissal of MMPRC's Managing Director Fathimath Thaufeeg (Kudi) on Wednesday. She was appointed to the post on 17 December 2023.

The Privatisation Board (PCB) on Thursday said Bassam will be temporarily in-charge of MMPRC.

While Kudi was sacked as MD of MMPRC, Aisha Nurain Janah, who was the chairperson of the company, resigned from the post on Tuesday, and mp Rafil Mohamed, who represents MATI on the MMPRC board, also resigned last month.

The PCB said on Thursday that it had accepted Nurain's resignation.
