President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has proposed the names of PNC Chairperson and Fonadhoo MP Abdulla Abdul Raheem as the Speaker of the 20th Parliament and Dhiggaru MP Ahmed Nazim as the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament.

President Dr. Muizzu proposed their names at a meeting with PNC's elected members at Muliaage on Monday, which was attended by Cabinet Ministers and heads of state-owned companies.

Abdul Raheem, who serves as special adviser to President Dr.Muizzu, has been at the helm of the progressive congress coalition for the past five years since former president Yameen was jailed.

Nazim, who has worked in politics for a long time, also filled the role of the Deputy Speaker of the 18th Parliament.

During today's meeting, President Dr. Muizzu proposed the names of Falah for the post of PNC PG leader, Shujau as deputy PG.

The names of Mahibadhoo MP Ahmed Thorigu, Hulhudhoo MP Mohamed Shahid and Villimale' MP Mohamed Ismail were proposed as deputy PG leaders.
