Sports Ministry Deputy Minister Hussain Shifaz has been suspended for violating the employee code of conduct.

Sports Ministry PR Officer Ismail Azmeen told One Online today that Shifaz was suspended by the President's Office for violating the guidelines for political employees. He was suspended today.

"The President has the power to dismiss political employees if they do not follow the guidelines. The suspension is effective today indefinitely. Whether they will be paid or not will be known after receiving a response from the President's Office," Azmeen said.

Three deputy ministers have already been suspended for posting mockery of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media. They are Maryam Shiuna and Malsha Shareef, who are among the deputy ministers of the youth ministry, and Mahzoom Majid.

The three were suspended with pay in January.
