The partners for this year's Air Service World Congress (ASWC) set to be hosted by Velana International Airport (VIA) has been announced.
The ASWC partners were announced at a ceremony held at the Noovilu Seaplane Terminal at Velana International Airport yesterday.
The ceremony was attended by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shareef, Deputy Managing Directors, Senior Management and Partners.
At the ceremony, MACL MD Shareef said that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's vision is a far-sighted masterplan that will make the VIA an important partner in the growing economy, he said. He hoped that the ASWC would create a variety of business opportunities.
"The Air Service World Congress will offer various networking and business opportunities. I invite all stakeholders to take advantage of this opportunity to participate in this pleasant event and forge sustainable business relationships," he said.
Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Chairperson Aisha Nurain Janah also attended last night's ceremony.
According to Noorain, the Air Service World Congress will bring new partnerships, expand networks, increase air transport services to rural areas of the Maldives and increase the number of visitors every year.

Air Service World Congress 2024 is the country’s first aviation route development event to bring together international delegates for face-to-face discussions on the future of aviation. The event is scheduled to take place from the 9th to the 11th of this month at Kurumba Maldives.
MACL expects 300 delegates from around the world to attend the event. These include airport and route development executives, airline executives, airline networking planners, aviation suppliers and representatives of aviation and tourism agencies.
