Haiman Construction has been awarded the contract for the finishing work of Aa Saharaa in Malé City for MVR 2.7 million.

Secretary General Wajeeh Naseer signed the agreement on behalf of the City Council at a ceremony held at the City Council yesterday. Director of Haiman Constructions, Mohamed Aiman signed the agreement on behalf of the company.

Haiman Construction was awarded the contract to complete the cemetery within 60 days. It was awarded the contract under an announcement made last year.

The renovation of the Aa Sahara cemetery to incorporate a two-storey building was initiated in June last year in order to expand space for accommodating visitors.

The work on the cemetery renovation began when President Dr Mohamed Muizzu was Mayor in May 2023.

The expansion of the mosque will also see the women's praying area seeing an extension as well as a special ablution area for women.

In addition, a waiting area and small rooms will be built during the renovation.
