The five bridges and connection channels developed in Hulhumale' with Saudi Development Fund has been inaugurated.

The bridges and the channels were inaugurated by the senior management of Saudi Development Fund at a ceremony held in Hulhumale' on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, HDC's Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed said that the support from the Saudi Development fund has revolutionised Hulhumale'.

"The bridges and connection channels developed under Saudi Development Fund and the development of the urban isle in future will revolutionise Hulhumale'," Fazul said.

Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad, CEO of Saudi Development Fund, said that the development project of Hulhumale' and today's ceremony showed the Kingdom's readiness to contribute to the development of the Maldives.

He said the Saudi Fund had spent USD 80 million on the Hulhumale' development project, which was an important investment made by the fund for the socio-economic development of the Maldives.

He said that the Saudi Fund has been contributing to the development of the Maldives since 1978 and 16 loans have been sanctioned for various development projects in the Maldives.
