Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has announced plans to develop the beach area of Hulhumale' Phase II.

HDC said the Corporation has asked the public to remove the huts in the area by 30 May so that the development project can commence.

HDC said that the Corporation will remove any and all huts that still remain in the area after 30 May. The Corporation said it will not take responsibility for any damage caused to the items in the cleaning process.

"We have informed to remove the huts constructed by individuals at the Ruhgandu 3 beach area in Hulhumale' Phase II. The huts are being removed so that we can commence further development of the area," HDC said.

HDC said that the huts have been constructed by individuals for commercial purposes and that it adds to the challenges in cleaning the area.
