Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has departed for the United Kingdom on an official visit.

The Economic Ministry said Minister Saeed's visit will include discussions to seek the help of UK business partners to create a trade market that is critical to the country's economic and social development.

The Ministry said the discussions will focus on the development of Maldives International Financial Services Authority and Development Bank.

During the visit, official work ties will be established with UK business services, and a strategy and operation framework will be established for the development of legal framework, business infrastructure and world class governance, and international financial institutions in the country, the Ministry said.
