President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has condemned Israel's attacks on Palestine, calling for immediate cease to the attacks in Rafah, adding that there will be no peace for Palestine unless justice is served.
President Dr. Muizzu, in a post on X, called on Israel to abide by international law, adding that Rafah showed desperate scenes with numerous people being martyred. He further added that the international community can no longer stay silent while Israel continues their attacks on Rafah, which have led to an exacerbation of the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
"Israel must stop its brutal attacks on the Palestinian people at the same time and abide by international law," he said.
He said the Maldives fully supports South Africa's plea to the International Court of Justice to take action against Israel over its attacks on The Palestinian Territory of Palestine.
The President said the Maldives will stand with the people of Palestine in their struggle for self-respect and the right to become an independent state, based on the borders of East Jerusalem before 1967.
"We will not be able to rest until the State of Palestine becomes a reality and the brothers and sisters in Palestine live a life of dignity, peace and prosperity," he said.
While many countries have raised their voice condemning Israel's attacks on Palestinians, others have imposed sanctions on the country.
