Chief Spokesperson at the President's Office Heena Waleed has said that all Indian military personnel in the Maldives have been repatriated to India.

Heena told One this evening that more information about Indian military personnel will be made public soon. She did not disclose the number of Indian military personnel in the Maldives.

"All the military personnel have been repatriated. We will share the details in detail soon," Heena said in a statement.

The withdrawal of Indian soldiers in the Maldives is one of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's most important presidential pledges. President Dr. Muizzu formally requested India to withdraw Indian troops from the Maldives the day he took oath of office.

Since then, the Maldives and India have held high-level meetings on indian military issues, in which the two countries agreed to withdraw Indian troops from The Maldives by March 10. As per the agreement, Indian troops in Addu have been repatriated. The remaining troops were to be repatriated by end of tomorrow.
