A project has been launched to solve the flooding issues in Male' City.

The project was inaugurated by Defence Minister Ghassan Maumoon at a ceremony held in the Westpark area on Thursday.

The ceremony was attended by Local Government Minister Adam Shareef Umar, Construction Minister Dr Abdulla Muttalib, RDC Managing Director Brigadier General (retd) Ali Zuhair, Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy, military officials and senior government officials.

The project was handed over to the MNDF by the Road Development Corporation as a temporary solution to the problem of flooding in male' city.

The project, which is being carried out in collaboration with the Construction Ministry, will resolve the first flood problem in the West Park area.

According to the RDC, the project will install facilities to drain out the water generated in the Westpark area and will be carried out in other areas as well.
