Maldives Airports Company limited (MACL) has selected 10 employees to be sent for Hajj pilgrimage this year.

MACL's Hajj sponsorship is given annually by the company to commemorate the employees who have been serving the company for a long time.

CEO and Managing Director of MACL Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed handed over the letters to the selected employees at a ceremony held at Hulhule Island Hotel on Thursday.

MACL said the company prioritises employees who have served the company for a long time and meet the company's criteria for selection.

Speaking at the ceremony, Shareef said that it brought happiness to the company to work with the Islamic Ministry and the Maldives Hajj Corporation to provide the opportunity to the employees.

"The company places a great priority in this and we will continue to do everything we can to ensure that the opportunities available to long-term employees at the company continue unhindered," Shareef said.

Since 2017, MACL has been providing hajj opportunities to 10 employees annually and has been providing the same to its employees since last year after covid-19.
