Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has denied corruption allegations against the company's Managing Director Mujthaba Jaleel by 'Dhiyavaru' media.

According to an article published by 'Dhiyavaru' on Monday, WAMCO had committed massive corruption in Dubai to purchase the garbage truck (compactor vehicle) through a company formed by a family member of WAMCO's MD Mujthaba.

Refuting the claims, WAMCO in a press release said that the company had not sought any information at the time of receipt of the letter and that such news items were intended to tarnish the reputation of the company's higher management members and create a negative image in the minds of the public regarding the financial integrity and integrity of the company.

WAMCO said that all financial decisions of the company are transparent in a complete system involving the participation of special individuals for the purpose and the financial decisions of the company will be taken by the company based on the decisions of the board and the bid committee.

"WAMCO will continue to encourage responsible journalism and will continue to share information with those who need information about the company as per laid down procedures," the company said.
