A boat carrying cargo bound for GDh. Faresmaathoda from Male' city has run aground on a reef.

MNDF told 'One' that 'Roashanee' boat was reported to have run aground around 2235hrs on Sunday night.

Of the 16 people aboard the boat, no one was reported injured.

MNDF said Male' Area Command Coast Guard Second Squadron personnel along with divers were sent to the area to provide assistance to the boat.

The boat was removed from the reef around 1100hrs on Monday following efforts of the boat crew along with divers from MNDF Coast Guard.
