Parliament has passed an amendment to the rules to create two posts for Deputy Secretary General (SG) at the Parliament.
According to the amendment proposed by the Parliament's General Committee, two posts can be created as Deputy SG's assist the parliament in the field of administration and law.
The Deputy SG's assists the Parliament and the SG in all matters relating to the general functions of the Parliament as well as its financial responsibilities.
According to the amendment, when the post of The General Secretary of the Parliament falls vacant or when SG is unwilling to perform the duties of office, it shall be temporarily performed by the Deputy SG.
The change is aimed at improving the functioning of the Parliament.
