The Government has said that the committee formed to investigate the allotment of flats in Hulhumale' Phase-II will complete the necessary processes by the time the flats are constructed.

Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation has contracted the construction of 4,000 flats in Hulhumale' to Indian companies. As part of this project, 16 towers will be constructed.

former president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration had previously released a list of flat recipients under the project. However, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has stopped the handover of the flats after flagging several issues with the process. ACC said that some recipients had been awarded points unfairly without a proper check of the quality of life.

The present government has also set up a new committee to look into the issue of flats and allot flats to the deserving.

Giving details at a press conference held at the President's Office, Chief Spokesperson at President's Office Heena Waleed said that the work of the flat committee has not stopped and is going on in full swing.

"The work on the flats is yet to be completed. However, by the time the flats are completed, we are hopeful that the decisions of the flat committee will be made and the flats will be handed over to the deserving. that," Heena said.

The government aims to address the housing crisis in the country during the current term.
