Former President Abdullah Yameen participated and chaired the senate meeting of People's National Front (PNF).

Maleeh Jamal said in a post on X today that President Yameen chaired the meeting with the consent of the Senate. It was the first time in the history of the PNF that Yameen chairred a senate meeting of the party.

The meeting elected members to four committees under the Constitution, including the Ethics, Appeals, EC and Member Affairs Committees.

Maleeh is one of the leaders in the formation of Yameen's new party.

The PNF formation rally was scheduled to be held at Ghiyassuddin International School on the 10th of this month but was not allowed to be held there. Yameen's son Zain was appointed as the party's interim president at the meeting held that night.

The party was registered on 25th of this month.
