President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured that nothing will be allowed to interfere with the studies of the medical school students.

The Maldives National University Student Union said in a statement after a meeting with senior officials of the President's Office to share their concerns over the order to evacuate the students from two floors of the Darmavantha Hospital, that the President had assured that their studies will not be interrupted.

"The President has also assured that he will give priority to protecting the educational rights of the students and will provide more complete facilities," the statement said.

The statement said it was in the interest of hundreds of medical students to stay at the hospital until the issue was resolved.

The National University Medical School is located on the 8th and 14th floors of Darmavantha Hospital. The school has more than 200 students.
