The woman arrested for running telegram channels dedicated to drug dealings and prostitution has been remanded in custody for another 15 days.

A 28-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were arrested for allegedly operating telegram groups under the names of Jazeera Admin, Jazeera Girls, Jazeera Scam Alert, Jazeera Link News and Jazeera Escort Gallery, which were running multiple illicit businesses including prostitution and drug dealing since April last year. The couple was arrested last month.

The woman's remand expired and police produced her in court yesterday and requested an extension of her remand. The court remanded her in custody for 15 days.

Investigative Officer Aminath Mohammed of the police's cyber policing center told a news conference at Iskandhar Koshi last month that the prostitutes were transported to different places in a special taxi with the taxi driver.

A police spokesperson told One Online that another person was arrested in the case on March 30. He is a 60 year old man, and was remanded in custody for 15 days, the official said.
