Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has announced land for sale in Thilafushi only for Maldivians.

HDC said in an announcement that the land being sold is allocated for industrial and commercial purposes. HDC added that the purpose of this is to create a conducive environment for the businesses in Male' area and to provide a sustainable opportunity for businesses to carry out activities.

HDC had first opened the sale of 108 plots from Thilafushi for industrial purposes on March 20, which were unsold land in Area B of Zone A, including 64 plots measuring 2,500-4,999 sq ft, 42 plots of 5,000-9,999 sq ft and two plots of 10,000-14,999 sq ft.

While Thilafushi reopens land sale, HDC has said it will focus on allowing small and medium enterprises to develop in a sustainable manner and is also in the process of leasing out additional land based on land use in Thilafushi.
