The suspension of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Ahmed Shamah Rasheed has been lifted.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) suspended Shamah on March 18 for alleged corporate governance issues. He was suspended for 14 days.
However, the PCB later extended his suspension on March 31. That is until the 21st of this month.
MIFCO said today that CEO Shamah has returned to his office after being informed by the PCB that his suspension has been lifted. The interim committee set up to manage the company has been dissolved.
His suspension was lifted after the matter was referred to the SOE Committee of the Parliament.
The PCB and Shamah have also been summoned. However, the committee has not yet decided on the matter.
